Confidence In Motion
Waiting Until I Felt Ready
For years I believed confidence would arrive like a package.
One day I would wake up and suddenly feel prepared… bold… certain.
Then I would act.
So I waited.
I waited to feel qualified enough to speak.
I waited to feel knowledgeable enough to coach.
I waited to feel fearless enough to lead.
But readiness never came the way I expected.
Instead, something surprising happened.
Every time I reluctantly said yes…
Every time I stepped forward while still unsure…
Every time I took action with trembling hands…
Confidence grew afterward.
Not before.
Scripture Meditation — Peter Walking on Water
Matthew 14:29 NKJV says:
“So He said, ‘Come.’ And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.”
Peter did not wait to feel confident.
He moved in response to instruction.
His confidence was not emotional certainty.
It was relational trust.
Faith activated the step.
Experience built the confidence.
This is the pattern for many believers today.
We think:
“I will act when I feel sure.”
But God often says:
“You will feel sure because you acted.”
Propelling Point
Confidence is rarely the prerequisite for obedience — it is often the reward.
Movement produces evidence.
Evidence strengthens belief.
Belief fuels greater movement.
This is why stagnation erodes confidence.
You cannot build self-trust while standing still.
You build it while engaging.
Propel Activation
Practice the YES Rule™ this week:
When you sense God prompting you toward a constructive action:
Count down from five
Take one immediate step
Do not negotiate with fear
Record what happens afterward
Track your confidence level before and after action.
You will begin to see a pattern:
Confidence grows through participation.
