Strength of Self-control

Self-control is more than resisting temptation—it is the daily choice to surrender our thoughts, words, and actions to the Holy Spirit. As we grow in Christ, self-control becomes evidence of His transforming work within us.

Living by the Spirit means allowing God to guide our responses rather than reacting to our emotions or circumstances. Galatians 5:22–23 lists self-control as one of the fruits of the Spirit, reminding us that it is developed through a growing relationship with God. When we practice self-control, we honor God in our decisions, strengthen our character, and become better equipped to face life's challenges with wisdom and grace.

Propelling Point

Self-control is strengthened as we surrender each day to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
